BCA Offers Advanced Board Training - Summer 2010
This July, BCA will offer a 2-part board training series entitled Art of Leadership 201. A spinoff of our successful Art of Leadership Program, this program is targeted towards individuals already serving on boards of directors. We'll cover topics that all board members will inevitably have to deal with while in service. We'll give board members the tools they need to successfully serve an arts organization. Read below for details and registration.
- Session 1 - Tuesday, July 20, 2010, 8:00am-12:00pm at Oregon Humanities
o Building Blocks: Recruiting, developing and engaging the right people for your board o Who's the boss? Executive Director/Board Relationships and Executive Transition
- Session 2 - Tuesday, July 27, 2010 , 8:00am-12:15pm at Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt - 19th Floor
o Reading Numbers: Using financial statements to assess the health of the organization o Where are we going? The Board's role in strategic planning o Be Fearless: Empowering your board to fundraise, and making it easier

Presenters include Bob Hazen, Director of Executive Transition Services at TACS; Dana Plautz, Principal, MrsP.com; George Thorn, Consultant and Owner, Arts Action Research; and Kay Sohl, Consultant and former Executive Director of TACS.
