- At NW/BCA we connect business and the arts to strengthen Oregon’s culture and economy. Our recently launched Business Volunteers for the Arts (BVA) program fully supports this mission. We will recruit, train and place experienced business professionals on pro bono consulting projects for nonprofit arts organizations throughout the Portland metropolitan area. On a project-by-project basis, volunteers contribute professional skills and resources to enhance the management capacity of arts organizations with limited resources. In return, business volunteers enrich their lives – by building their personal and professional networks, strengthening their business skills, and becoming an integral part of the behind-the-scenes world of the arts.
Why you should become a Business Volunteer...
As a business professional, you have the chance to:
- Strengthen your business skills by creatively channeling them to new areas
- Learn how to turn limited resources into successful outcomes
- Build personal and professional networks with others who share a love for the arts
- Become an integral part of the arts and cultural community
- Make a substantial, long-term impact on an arts organization on a project with measurable outcomes
- Build strategic and enduring relationships with arts and cultural organizations
How you can impact arts organizations...
Through this program, arts nonprofits will:
